Streamience, developers of the Swedish app-enabled streaming service Jaramba, has raised 7 MSEK from existing shareholders and new investors.
Since the launch in August 2016, Jaramba has grown its user base steadily and has held the No 1 position on the App Store list for kids as well as being the top 10 best grossing iPad apps. The additional funding will mainly be used for further content development and marketing.
Since Christmas, over 1 million books, games, puzzles, videos and other interactive activities have been read and played by the children using Jaramba.
– It’s so awarding to see that our efforts in creating a dedicated children’s streaming service that blends everything together children love into one coherent experience, really has paid off, says Streamience founder and CEO Peter Sjöström.
– Contrary to what people believe, when put in the driver’s seat, children choose activity over passive video consumption. Our own activity-based content is very popular and top the Jaramba charts side by side with strong international titles such as Hello Kitty and content from partners like Swedish outdoor museum Skansen, says Peter Sjöström.
